Timing Clamp

You will need a clamp like this to correctly time the camshafts when replacing or renewing the timing chain. It is only used to make sure the valves do not interfere with the pistons when you reinstall the heads. The actual timing procedure requires you to remove it. I used 10mm aluminium stock as it wont mark the steel camshaft in use.

Inlet manifold covers

This is a copy of the inlet manifold covers which will be used to 'lambify' my engine cover. The plate is milled from aluminium and is fixed by six screws to the manifold. You will need two of these. The manifold must be machined flat before fixing. The lettering and lines are raised in yellow, background is either plain aluminium or flat black.

Here are the ratio's for the CUS type of gearbox. This gearbox can be found in the 1996 Audi 2.5 TDi

Data on this gearbox is difficult to come by. I shall publish more info as it becomes available.


Modifying Mk3 Mondeo electric window motors

I wanted electric windows on my car but did not want to go to the expense of fitting the kit that Parallel Designs supply. At £500 per door, the price was too steep for me.

The alternative I came up with originally used a motor assembly from a Ford fiesta, this did not work too well. My next attempt using Mk3 Mondeo Motors works perfectly and here are some notes so that you can replicate my work.
